After serving for 10 years on the staff and faculty of a Baptist Bible college in the Mid-West, Pastor Chad and family (wife: Melissa, children: Jackson, Jacob, and Emma) moved to the Desert Southwest to Yuma, Arizona in June 2011 to pastor the Freedom Baptist Church. Pastor Chad has a vision to reach the greater Yuma area and especially the area of the Fortuna Foothills with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As a married man of 20 years with three children of his own, Pastor Chad also has a burden for today’s American family. His practical Biblical teaching and preaching focuses on the family and the key relationships in the life of the Believer.
Pastor Chad is experienced in relationship, financial, emergency/crisis, and spiritual counseling. Confidentiality is always a priority in his counseling.
Pastor Chad spends much time reaching out, visiting in the community. Believing that faith in Christ is necessary for salvation, he is often busy spreading the Gospel and convincing unbelievers to trust in Jesus Christ for everlasting life.
Bro. Dustin moved to Yuma in 2011 as an air traffic controller with the Marine Corps. In 2013 God called Bro. Dustin to the ministry and in 2015 God made it possible for Pastor Matheny to bring Bro. Dustin on as an Assistant Pastor. Bro. Dustin is married to his high school sweetheart Mrs. Sarah Alley. They have 2 children Evan and Ethan with a little girl on the way. Both Bro. Dustin and Mrs. Sarah are actively involved in the youth ministries of the church seeking to disciple the young people God has given us to see them grow into godly young men and women living for His glory.
Mrs. Nancy recently joined the staff of Freedom Baptist Church as Secretary after more than 30 years in banking, most recently as Compliance Officer for a local community bank. Nancy grew up in a military family and has lived in Yuma for over 40 years. She and her husband, John, together have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Although still learning a completely different line of work, she is thrilled to be serving the Lord in this capacity!
